2009 Online Democracy Award: Call for Nominations
The Online Democracy Award seeks to recognize a state legislative Web site that stands out for making democracy user-friendly.
Nominations for the 2009 award will be accepted until Friday, May 1, 2009. Eligible nominees include the web sites of state legislatures, individual chambers and officially recognized legislative caucuses. This year's winner will be announced at the Legislative Staff lunch during the National Conference of State Legislatures Legislative Summit in Philadephia, Pennsylvania.
The award is sponsored by NCSL’s Legislative Information and Communication Staff Section (LINCS) and National Association of Legislative Information Technology (NALIT).
LINCS is the voice of state legislatures. Its members include public information officers, press secretaries, radio and television producers, photographers, civic educators and all those who serve as the external liaisons between the nation's state legislatures and their constituents. LINCS provides legislative communicators with a network of more than 400 professionals from around the country with which to share ideas, war stories and experiences.
NALIT advances the exchange of ideas and information on all aspects of legislative information systems. Its members include CIOs and information technology managers, programmer and data base analysts, webmasters and other technical staff. NALIT serves to provide improved communications and foster better relations between legislative information systems management and staff, and the legislators and legislative staff they serve.
