Prevention Research Centers Merging Research and Practice (2007)
Published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), this "at-a-glance" addition briefly describes how academic health research has been beneficial to creating effective chronic disease prevention strategies for states to implement. This publication also gives a list of prevention research centers and description of their core projects.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed this book to share its vision of how states and their partners can reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases and their risk factors by instituting comprehensive statewide programs. In addition to describing some of the most promising practices available to state programs, the book provides numerous sources, including Web sites, that describe state and local examples of what can be achieved; state-of-the art strategies, methods, and tools; and training opportunities.
