The deadline for filing policy statements to be considered at the 2009 Fall Forum is Nov. 28. They should be sent to Carl Tubbesing, NCSL’s deputy executive director. Proposed policies will posted to the NCSL website by Dec. 2.

Unemployment Benefits Extended

classified adsOn November 6, 2009, President Obama signed the Worker, Homeownership and Business Act of 2009. The law provides a 14 week extension of unemployment benefits for claimants in all states and an additional 6 weeks of benefits for claimants in states with high unemployment. More
