Letter to Congress on HR 2868, the Chemical and Water Security Act of 2009

On October 4, 2009, NCSL wrote to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House Homeland Security Committee and the Energy and Commerce Commmittee opposing an amendment that would have preempted state authority with regards to stricter and/or stronger regulations for our nation's chemical facilities.  The amendment was defeated.  To view the letter, please click here.
