The deadline for filing policy statements to be considered at the 2009 Fall Forum is Nov. 28. They should be sent to Carl Tubbesing, NCSL’s deputy executive director. Proposed policies will posted to the NCSL website by Dec. 2.

On October 22, the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) released over $2.698 billion of Low-Income Home Energy Assistance PRogram funds to the staes in order to assist low-income families with their home energy bills through the end of 2009.  More
