A Case for Social Media

Do you need proof that social media is more than just a fad? We'll talk about the number of people engaging in this type of communication and review the most popular social media sites.

Social Media: What Works for State Legislatures

What forms of social media are state legislatures using to communicate with the public and constituents? We will review the latest tools and find new ways to use "old"  and "new" social media to reach out and get the public involved in your state legislature.

Social Media: What Works for Corporate America

We will hear from some of the top social media experts for both Dell Inc. and Southwest Airlines. Find out what role social media plays in their overall communications plan and how they use social media to engage the public. Get ready for some great ideas!

This is a great session even for those who already have a Facebook page set up. We will explain how the site works, how to set up "fan" pages for you boss and how to communicate with your "friends." Also learn some tricks on Facebook that might shorten the amount of time you spend this social media site.

Be a Bunch of "Followers"...Use Twitter

This portion of boot camp is not just for people thinking of setting up a Twitter account. This session will be very useful for current tweeters too. We will review how the site works, some hidden gems and talk about the best way to communicate with your "followers."

 Social Media Junkies

What other forms of social media are out there and what are people using? There are programs you might already use, but didn't think would fit into the social media platform! The best part is, a lot of the suggestions we will provide are free to try!

Lunch will be provided for all boot camp attendees. During lunch, we will break out into groups and try to find social media sites that appeal to us.

We will take this time to share the social media sites our groups found and discuss what we liked best.

Miss Manners Guide to Social Media

Now that we are familiar with the social media tools currently being used, we will talk about the proper way to use these tools.
